7 March 2006, Singapore - The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Han Cheng Fong, Group Chief Executive Officer of Fraser and Neave, Limited, as Chairman of Times Publishing Limited ("TPL") with effect from 1 March 2006. TPL is wholly owned by the Company, and leads the Group's printing, publishing and retail and distribution businesses. TPL was delisted in March 2002, but has continued to observe the Code of Corporate Governance in terms of Board membership and composition, and the operation of various board committees.
Dr Han takes over from Mr Lim Kim San, who retired from the TPL Board on 11 Jan 2006, after leading the TPL board as Chairman for almost 18 years.
Dr Han, as Group CEO, is responsible for the management, development and operations of the Property, Food & Beverage, and Printing and Publishing divisions of the Group.
The board wishes to place on record its deep appreciation to Mr Lim for the many years of strong leadership in charting the course for TPL, and congratulates Dr Han on his appointment.
