Moving with the times, this new store with a refreshed warm look takes on a renewed focus on families and children

Singapore, September 2015 – Established in 1978, Times Bookstores, a name synonymous to many Singaporeans, is a leading retailer of English language books and complementary products in the region, with a chain of bookstores throughout Singapore and Malaysia. Unveiling its sixth store with a new concept at Marina Square, Times Bookstores are poised to further enhance their offerings and focus into a renewed brand direction of catering to the reading and lifestyle needs of children and the whole family.

Designed in cheerful orange palette complemented by warm brown hues of wood furnishings and trims, the new store, which spans over 2,800 square feet, exudes an inviting feel that makes browsing and shopping for books and other merchandise a delight.

Approximately 30% of the store is dedicated to children’s books and merchandise, with the section painted in beautiful shades of pastel and colourful clouds adorning the ceiling. Backed by the strong belief that learning is fun, Times Bookstores also carry educational toys and games that stimulate, cultivate and promote creativity and make learning fun and exciting.

The rest of the store space offers an extensive range of books catering to readers of all ages and interests, including lifestyle and non-fiction books, as well as premium choices of writing accessories and instruments, lifestyle and gift items, that cater to the lifestyle needs of discerning consumers.

"Times Bookstores have grown to become one of the most reputable homegrown names in the book retail business with a strong heritage of over 30 years. Moving forward, we are dedicated in catering to the evolving needs of families and children by providing them with an inspiring and conducive environment suited for learning and discovery. We also want to engage and encourage them to explore the wonderful world of books in a holistic and positive manner”, said Ms Helen Lek, Head of Retail for Times Publishing Group.

In today’s world of technological advances, Times Bookstores prove that tactile book reading and experiential learning is still important, relevant and exciting. Times Marina Square will serve as a blueprint for the company’s biggest store that is slated to open at Waterway Point in Punggol come January 2016. Spanning over 7,300 square feet, the store will also be one of the key tenants of the mall.
